...and more mail

...this time in the form of Glamour magazine. I subscribed to the US mag when the $AUD was soaring; a bargain buy. It's a high-selling publication, the swag of high-profile advertisers that grace the front end are usually a good indication of how well a magazine is doing.

I love Juergen Teller's photos for Marc Jacobs' ad campaigns. I think he is a '70s-loving kind of man.

I also found some cool stuff while flicking through an old Belle magazine.

You have mail

How lovely is it to receive a letter or package in the mail?!
On Monday I received a package from my gorgeous sister-in-law, one half of the cool Birdy Popcorn girls.
Two beautifully fragrant soaps were wrapped in vintage fabric, along with an old newspaper image of a '70s girl in a cool long dress and a retro playing card.
Whenever I go to Melbourne I walk a couple of kms from St Kilda up to Balaclava to buy these vegan soaps from the local health store.

Three years ago today...

...I got the keys to my house.
7 is a special number to me, and the fact that it was also a new moon on that day in 2008, wasn't lost on me.
Along with this "nook" in the kitchen, here are a few reasons why I fell for my home.

Seeing the afternoon sun's beautiful colours from my house.

Looking at the moon on the water (one of my favourite ever things to look at).

Watching the sunrise from my bed.

These round windows.



And I can walk to work.

Triple Cee studio: the wheel deal

I bought this table, from the Bondi Market, about 8 years ago when I lived in Bondi. It's been my jewellery making table in that time. It was never quite high enough, and I always planned to put it on castors. Yesterday I did just that. It is now the perfect height. Aaah.

Another Sydney buy. This time from a very cool furniture shop in Darlinghurst. I paid way too much for it, but I loved it. And its many drawers are perfect storage for lots of jewellery making bits and pieces (some of the drawers are even divided again into smaller compartments).

I've changed the pulls and handles over the years. I like that they don't all match (the red ones were an eBay score, while four of the decorative bone ones I found in the homewares section of a Zara store in San Sebastian, back in 2005).

In the key of Cee

While I was overjoyed to stumble across this gem of a collection recently, it kinda made me sad: someone's much-loved (not to mention extensive) keyring collection no longer in their possession. But what a find!

Sorting through these keyrings (destined to be quirky jewellery bits) was like entering some kind of pop-culture time machine!

Stu, stu, studio...

I had plans for a drive today, but the wind has kept me inside.
I'm working on the studio and thinking about some more tiling.
The bathroom tiling is just not grabbing me yet, so I'll follow my instincts and head into the Triple Cee studio and decorate/set it up.
My head's in style mode, not practicalities as these two photos attest.
