Art attack

In addition to the weekend's musical Hobart trip, there was a side of art and food (food photos to come).
My friend Somerset-based artist Michael Muruste had a retrospective exhibition in Hobart's Carnegie Gallery.
He has a lovely way with colour combinations and his curvy linear marks are his trademark. Lovely work, Michael.

Rearranged arrangement

A change is like a holiday. So, as I am on holiday, I did some changing.
And cleaning.
And sorting.
And culling.
And recycling.
This little corner of my house was piled high with unread newspapers.
They're gone. Unread. Good riddance.
Yay.

Desert dwellers

Palm Springs-based fashion designer Trina Turk is one lucky chica. She lives in this amazing Art Deco home known as the Ship of the Desert. Obviously named as such because of its sleek nautical lines.

Russh to Rust

I first saw Charlotte Rust's NZ home in an old Russh magazine a few years back.
I thought it was one of the coolest pads I'd seen, and now, with The Selby's recent visit, it looks like the fashion stylist has still got it going on. See the rest of her house here.

I just stumbled across this amazing bank architecture at Black Eiffel. Check out the Japanese architect firm's site here; very cool.

Birthday treats!

I had an especially lovely birthday today and after a great breakfast and magnificent coffee I treated myself to this gorgeous '70s caftan from the Made With Love Bazaar.

I also bought myself a copy of Frankie magazine's Spaces book.

The crafty girls at the Made With Love Bazaar put on another fabulous market today. So great to see so many creative people in the one room! Can't wait til next month.
